Within a few weeks after the Cursillo Weekend, new cursillistas, their sponsors and staff from the weekend meet, usually on a Saturday, to learn more. This is a time to share their experience with those present and to hear a few more "talks." It includes an instructed Ultreya as well as the opportunity to ask any questions they may have of a panel of leaders of past weekends. And lunch is on the house!
A new Cursillista can be easily distracted by the time Sunday rolls around by the intense mental and emotional activity of the weekend, the busy schedule, and the anticipation of going home to loved ones. According to the National Episcopal Cursillo Literature, "the purpose of A Day of Deeper Understanding is to take us away from the attitude that Cursillo is only a wonderful weekend experience and toward the understanding of how the gift of the Cursillo Method provides a structure for a lifetime experience of Christian love and service."
Sunday's message on the Cursillo weekend focuses on providing new Cursillistas with the knowledge and tools to live out their Fourth Day. It is essential to really understand and follow those Sunday teachings.
